(01)The challenge
Roasters sell origin, process and season — but most coffee shops online look like any other checkout. Northbound needed a store that feels like the tasting bar: slow, specific, and generous with detail, without adding friction on the way to a subscription.
(02)The approach
- 01
A product page built around the farm, the process and the tasting notes, with the buy box always within thumb reach on mobile.
- 02
A three-question brew finder that lands you on the right bag and grind in under thirty seconds.
- 03
Subscriptions as the default, with skip and pause one tap away — trust as a retention feature.
(03) The outcome
A concept storefront where the story and the checkout share one layout, designed to a 1.5 s largest-contentful-paint budget on a mid-range phone.
